Summary:
Hurricane damage to seven stores located in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. Interior of stores sustained extensive water damage and flooding throughout multiple levels. Our mitigation group was needed to provide temporary electric, extract water, dry out and demolish the interior structure as well as the removal of all display fixtures.

Universal Restoration Services Solution:
Universal’s mitigation group was comprised of approximately seventy individuals ranging from project management, supervision, labors, field auditors as well as our own captured waste removal company completely dedicated to servicing the Dillard’s Stores. This group was responsible for the water extraction, building dry-out and the demolition of interior structures.

Client Benefit:
As a result of the massive efforts of both Universal Restoration Services and CDI Contractors, the Dillard’s Department Stores were able to re-open just over two months after Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast. This joint effort saved the insurance carrier huge losses in business interruption insurance and allowed Dillard’s Department Stores to open before their completion.
